Saturday Schedule

8AM-3:30PM

Preliminary round (individual times)

7:30PM-Honors Concert (finalists) in Nazareth Chapel

Awards ceremony and reception in the Nazareth Great Room following the Concert.


Preliminary Round: Performance schedules, including the time for each performer's individual preliminary performance, will be mailed to performers during the week of March 1, 201.

Performance time for the preliminary round is limited as follows for each category entered:

Grades 4-6: 5 minutes maximum

Grades 7-9: 7 minutes maximum

Grades 10-12: 9 minutes maximum

Due to time constraints, some pieces may not be heard in their entirety during the preliminary round.  Participants may not plan their own cuts to accomodate the time allotment.

Registration:  The official application form, with a non-refundable $22.00 entry fee, must be postmarked by February 22, 2017.

Eligibility: The Festival is open to all piano students, grades 4-12.

Repertoire Requirement: A solo work from the standard classical repertoire, a contest piece, or a standard gospel arangement.  Classical repertoire must be original scores only, no arrangements.  Repeats may be omitted.  All music must be memorized.  

Scores: Participants must present judges with a score of each piece to be performed.  Measures must be numbered.  No photocopies are accepted.

Previous winners: First prize winners must advance to the next age category.

First Price: $50.00 (Category 1)

First Price: Category 2-$75.00

First Prize: Category 3-$100.00

Second Prize: Categories 1, 2, 3

Gift Certificates for Schmitt Music

All participants will receive a scholarship voucher applicable to the summer Piano Institute held July 24-29, 2017
